Karl Wirka
Karl Wirka has twenty years of professional and consulting experience with nonprofit organizations in the arts, higher education, and human services. Karl's experience and interests are in the areas of strategic planning, vision formulation and program development, strategic communications, and financial analysis and planning. As a consultant Karl has developed program plans and scenarios, developed fundraising plans and proposals, and facilitated visioning and strategic planning processes.
Karl began his career as an educator teaching in Africa. He has since managed marketing and fundraising programs at Harvard and Yale Universities. At Yale, he had a leadership role in a significant effort to re-brand and strategically re-position the School of Management. At the MBA Program at Harvard Business School, Karl was responsible for operational and financial management and planning for a $50+ million division at a time of significant expansion of student and academic services. Karl served on the campaign committee for the Wellesley Free Library Campaign.
